We encourage anyone who has an interest in systematic reviews, research synthesis, and evidence-informed health care to consider attending this year's Cochrane Colloquium.
Colloquium delegates comprise:
Researchers and scientists
Individuals involved in conducting health research, undertaking research syntheses, developing methods for identifying, appraising, and synthesizing evidence, translating reseach evidence into practice and policy, and exploring new ways of producing and using evidence.
Health practitioners
Individuals involved in the delivery of health care, including physicians, nurses, allied health practitioners, midwives, specialists, and many more.
Policy makers
Those responsible for making recommendations and decisions regarding healthcare policy (drug coverage, best-practice guidelines, etc.), including health technology assessors responsible for informing technology-related policy making in health care.
Consumers and patients
Individuals who are either patients themselves or advocate on behalf of patients. Cochrane has a long-established Consumer Network that ensures the views of patients and consumers are taken in account when conducting Cochrane Reviews and interpreting healthcare evidence.
Cochrane contributors and staff
The international nature of Cochrane does not allow for significant face-to-face teamwork. Colloquia provide an annual forum where Cochrane staff come together to meet, share ideas and information, and learn about the latest evidence and methodology. Most importantly, annual Colloquia provide the opportunity for colleagues from around the world to connect, collaborate, and celebrate.
Last but not least we encourage students to come and learn about Cochrane and evidence-based health care.
