Rationale for registration fees

Registration fees are set with two principles in mind:

  • equity: promote participation by keeping fees for consumers and delegates from LMICs as low as possible
  • cost-recovery: cover the costs of hosting the Colloquium without making any substantial profit

We have made every attempt to keep registration fees as low as possible. The fees for the 2016 Colloquium are comparable to previous years for most categories of registration. As is usual for Cochrane Colloquia, both the Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner are included in the registration fee. Cochrane's policy on not accepting sponsorship from conflicted sources puts further pressure on registration fees.

For 2016 we have introduced an additional category of registration for upper-middle-income countires. While this does increase the cost of registration for delegates from these countries, it means that we have been able to keep the fee for low-income and lower-middle-income countries at the same level as previous years.

To take advantage of the lowest registration fees, we encourage you to register early and apply for stipends where eligible.
