Oral Presentation Guidelines

We kindly ask you to follow the instructions below to ensure your presentation goes smoothly.

Long oral presenters

  • There are four presentations in each 90-minute slot.
  • You will have 15 minutes for your presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion.
  • Chairs of the session will indicate when you have 3 minutes and 1 minute remaining.
  • Please disclose all funding sources and/or potential conflict(s) of interest, relevant to the topic or research being presented, to the audience before your presentation.
  • Your disclosure(s) should be stated on the second slide of your presentation. We recommend to use either of the following statements:
    “I have no actual or potential conflict of interest in relation to this presentation.”
    “I have a [financial interest, arrangement or affiliation] with the following organisation(s) that could be perceived as a direct or indirect conflict of interest in the context or content of this presentation.”
  • You can prepare your presentation in PowerPoint, Keynote (for Mac) or as a pdf-file.
  • Please bring a copy of your presentation to Seoul (USB stick or send to your webmail).

  • You will have 7 minutes for your presentation followed by 3 minutes for questions and discussion.
  • Chairs of the session will indicate when you have 1 minute remaining.
  • Please disclose all funding sources and/or potential conflict(s) of interest, relevant to the topic or research being presented, to the audience before your presentation.
  • Your disclosure(s) should be stated on the second slide of your presentation. We recommend to use either of the following statements:
    “I have no actual or potential conflict of interest in relation to this presentation.”
    “I have a [financial interest, arrangement or affiliation] with the following organisation(s) that could be perceived as a direct or indirect conflict of interest in the context or content of this presentation.”

On the day of your presentation

  • Come to the speaker preparation room at least two hours before your session with a copy of your presentation to provide to the technical staff. All presentations must be uploaded at least one hour before the session.
  • If your presentation includes video or audio, please check that it works well before your session (i.e. the day before).
  • Every room is equipped with a laptop, projector and screen. A microphone for the speaker and a second microphone for the floor are available in the larger rooms.
  • Technical assistance is available in each room.
  • Session chairs will introduce each presenter.
  • Please be respectful of your fellow presenters and their allotted time by staying within the time allowed and complying with the session chairs if they ask you to wrap up.

FAQs

Do I need to register if I am a presenter?
Yes, all presenters need to register by 1 September and pay the registration fee.

Can I make changes to my abstract?
No, changes to abstracts are no longer possible.

When do I need to be in my session room?
Please come to your assigned session room 10 minutes in advance to fine-tune the session with the session chairs and other presenters.

When and where can I upload my presentation?
Please upload your presentation at the speaker preparation room at least two hours before your session starts. Your presentation cannot be uploaded in the presentation room.

Can I change the presenting author of my abstract?
Yes, you can. Please e-mail abstracts@cochrane.org with the title of your abstract and the name of the original presenter. Please note that changes after 14 September may not be reflected in the programme.
